Excursion, Dinner & Concert

The Choir of Christ the King Parish is offering an evening excursion. Participants will be picked up at the hotel and transported to Christ the King Parish for a delicious dinner, given a tour of this unique Church and treated to a concert. The church was dedicated by Bishop Kelley in May of 1928, and was the first church to be dedicated with the name “Christ the King.” Of Gothic, Byzantine and Art Deco architecture, the church was designed by Chicago modernist Francis Barry Byrne, a contemporary of Frank Lloyd Wright. See beautiful mosaics and stained glass windows, described in Liturgical Arts Magazine as ranking “among the best to be found in the United States.”
