T19     The Eucharist and Our Life as Church: John Paul II’s Ecclesia de Eucharistia
            Rev. Gavin Vaverik

John Paul II was an active participant in Vatican II.  Now, 40 years later, he invites us to live more deeply the mystery of faith encountered in the Eucharist, the font and summit of the Christian life (SC 10, LG11).  On Holy Thursday 2003, the Pope offered his most recent encyclical containing his reflection that the Church draws her life from the Eucharist.  How does this vision challenge us to more fully, consciously and actively participate in the liturgy?
